Writing music is my passion

My passion is writing and singing/recording my own songs, plus the occasional cover song. But when I do a cover song, I like to make an original arrangement... What's the point of doing a carbon-copy?

I do everything in my home studio. E.g. the PC I built for music, plus a good condenser mic and a few other pieces of hardware. It's amazing what is possible with so little these days.

I would love to make my living SOMEDAY doing something musical. Not necessarily performing. Maybe songwriting, or engineering/producing, or TV/Movie scoring. Competition is brutal, chances are slim. But I keep doing it, because it is what I love. In the meantime, I make my living at IT. I have always loved computers, mainly for how they can help me make art.

I would love to work with other musicians. If you are a singer/songwriter, I can help you create some tracks of at least demo quality. (Again, ask for my music link and judge for yourself.) I can fill in instruments you don't play.

Why am I writing all this crap about music, instead of relationship stuff? Because this is a PASSIONS site, and my PASSION is music. And if you aren't bored by now, I want to talk to you.

One more thing. I am an atheist. Not the militant, "convert the world type". Rather, the ex-christian, "I thought about it and it didn't make sense" type. I don't care what other people believe as long as they don't try to force it on me, either personally or by passing laws to enforce their particular "morality."

The only reason I mention this is that I know many people, for whom religion is important, will click on to the next search result. That's OK. No hard feelings. But if you are still reading, I'd REALLY like to talk to you.
